Curious if you had come across this news. I don't know how relevant this is to us, but Microsoft has released the full version of Visual Studio Community 2013 for free download, and is encouraging cross-platform development. As a long-time user of various Express versions of VS, this interests me for a few reasons. VS Express doesn't do 64-bit executables, but full versions do, so that's nice.

What I'm really dreaming of is for them to follow this in a few months by saying they're going cross-platform with DirectX. Talk about a game changer. But for now, a free, fully-featured, cross-platform Visual Studio seems like a very nice step. I'm betting it wouldn't be too difficult to run Spacewar in this new VS.

Yes, I heard about the changes. I just downloaded the VS 2015 beta.I'll try the community 2013 version also to make sure all of my code compiles. Thanks for sharing the info.

P.S. VS 2015 includes native support for Android programming. Including an Android simulator. (Mind Blown!)
