The blog titled "DirectX using the “Windows” style form, not XAML kind of form" has some high praise of "Programming 2D Games". Here is a link to the blog post:

I am not surprised. As I have said in other posts getting into game dev, both c++ and directx,is very daunting and exhaustive subject. This book + the source code gave the best minimal working examples of so many ideas. Its the only one I've found that compiles without errors, warnings, or my AV popping up with malware warnings hah. I have had to put my learning on hold for now as I am finishing my thesis at university, but will definitely be active in the future when I get time.

Thanks!

Well deserved praise!

I have many books on programming spanning back years including Direct X ones yet when I discovered yours I was amazed at how well written it was and just had to buy it. If anyone is here and deciding whether to buy this book then I suggest you don't delay and just get it.. money well spent.

And should you release a 3D book, and one as well written as your 2D one then I shall keep a space warm on my book shelf. :)
